It is the 26th of January, celebrated as Republic Day in India. India is a land of festivals and we have different types of festivals, some of them are national, some regional and some are based on a particular religion and a group of people. Similarly, our republic day has been marked as our national festival. It remains a holiday in the entire nation and every year we celebrate this occasion with a lot of enthusiasm and pleasure.
This Year, in January 2023, in New Delhi Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will be the chief guest. I have brought here some welcome speeches on this occasion and hope you will like it and will be helpful for you.

I Ananya Tiwari from class 4 A would like to thank my teachers for giving me this opportunity to express my views on this very special occasion. It is a matter of pride and honour at the same time to be a part of this celebration. This day holds a very special place in the history of India and we are here to celebrate our 72nd Republic day this year. I heartily welcome all of you on this occasion in our school premises.
It was 15 August 1947 when India got its independence and an independent nation needed some set of rules and regulations. Therefore, it took almost 3 years to make our own law in the form of our constitution. Finally, the date of enforcement of our Constitution is celebrated as our Republic Day and it was 26 January in the year 1950. Therefore, from the same day every year, we celebrate this day as our Republic Day and celebrate the enforcement of our Constitution.
On this special day, all of us must pledge to protect our nation and its compatriots. We are a family and we respect our nation and its dignity.

The smiling faces in the chilling morning represent your patriotism and respect for the nation. We have gathered here to celebrate one of our national festivals. I welcome all of you on the occasion of Republic Day and the entire nation celebrates this occasion with great enthusiasm.
Most of us hail from different cities and are also of different religions, but everyone celebrates this occasion with the same enthusiasm. We unite and wear tricolours and make this occasion special. Today I will tell you the importance of our Republic day.
The word ‘Republic’ stands for a country where people select their leader or government of their own. So, India is a nation where we have the right to select our government and we usually do so after every five years. When there is a government it will also require some set of rules to run a nation and for this, there is a book which is known as ‘The Constitution of India’. It is a book with all kinds of rules and regulations and we got this book on this auspicious day.
So, we got our constitution on this day. Now you would be thinking about what is so special about this book. Actually, there were no rules and regulations before but a nation cannot run without some rules. Today you have many rights like the right to education, fundamental rights, right to freedom, etc. All we got just because of our constitution. It plays a very important role in our life.
We are a part of the new India and we should try our best to make our nation the best. It is our duty to keep it clean, follow rules, and many other things. We represent our country and in western countries, India was known as a country of snake charmers. Although it was never true, it is our duty to let the world know the new India and this change can only start from your neighboring, office premises and also the places you visit.
So, at last, I would like to say that, when we have such a versatile constitution then why we seek other countries for our better future and earning. Develop yourself and develop your nation. I hope this was informative and would have cleared your views as well. So, celebrate your new version of freedom which your constitution defines.

Good Morning everyone and I welcome all of you on this beautiful morning where the birds seem singing the parody of patriotic songs, the white color of the sky promoting peace and harmony everywhere, and the cold breeze forcing trees to baffle and show their joy on this very special day.
On this auspicious morning of our constitution enforcement day, I, Siya, heartily welcome all of you to be a part of our celebration. It is our 74th Republic day and we have gathered here to make this occasion more special.
We have gathered here to hoist our national flag, but do you have any idea, what is the history of this day? We know our Independence Day because we are familiar with the word independence. But what about the Republic, I am sure that there are many who don’t know why do we celebrate this occasion?
After independence, our leaders found it difficult to enforce a new rule in the entire nation. So, they needed one nation one rule like something. They also felt that we should have a new set of rules and regulations for new India. So, the thought of making a constitution raised from here.
After independence, a group of people was asked to make our law and it took about 2 years 11 months, and 18 days to complete it. Some famous names like Rajendra Prasad, Jawaharlal Nehru, B. R. Ambedkar, Vallabhbhai Patel, Abul Kalam Azad, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, etc also contributed their part in the making of the constitution, whereas, Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar was appointed as the Chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee.
The Drafting Committee had seven members and they were B.R. Ambedkar, K.M. Munshi, B.L. Mitter, Alladi Krishnaswami Ayyar, Mohammad Saadulla, D.P. Khaitan, and N. Gopalaswami. It was 30th August 1947 when the first meeting of the Drafting Committee was held.
They adopted various rules and regulations from different countries and made a book having 470 articles and 25 parts. We have the largest constitution in the world with liberal laws. India has been marked as a democratic nation in our constitution. Although the constitution was ready by the 26th of November 1949; however, was brought into action on 26th January 1950 for the first time.
There is also a story behind choosing this day. In the year 1929 in the month of December, when Nehru Ji was elected as the president of the Indian National Congress, he accounted that India will get its dominion till the 26th of January 1930. Although it was not fulfilled, this date was found appropriate to celebrate our Republic Day. So, from that year we started celebrating our Republic day.
India is the world’s largest democratic nation and it has been 76 years of freedom. Although it is a matter of pride, we should also analyze the static difference between growth and some other factors. It is not only about counting the years on numbers but each year should be a milestone in the field of development.
Some strong countries like America was also a slave years before, but today it is the most powerful county in the world. We should learn from them and should double our efforts. Although there is a lot of development, still there are some rules and taboos that exist in our society which hinders growth in some sectors.
It was our heroes who gave us independence and now it is our duty to make India the supreme power. We should never forget our history and should always try our best to contribute to its progress. India is a land of heroes and a young nation because most of the population is young in this country. So, we should take it as an advantage and should try our best to boost our economy.
Every year we celebrate Republic day and it seems like Ambedkar and Nehru Ji asking as if what we had done till now? Really all of us should think about it and work hard.
